OpenCms Days 2011 Conference and Expo

The OpenCms 8 User Experience

OpenCms Days 2011 did take place from Monday, May 9 to Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in Cologne, Germany.

The 2011 conference is over. Information about upcoming OpenCms Days events will be announced on this website as soon as possible.

This year's conference did focus on the new version 8 of OpenCms that offers an improved user experience for the content manager. The final version of OpenCms 8 was made available for public download on the first day of the conference.

OpenCms Days 2011 featured 2 parallel tracks with Showcase and Workshop sessions:

  • Showcase sessions presented a variety of solutions, best practices and implementation highlights from OpenCms projects all over the world.
  • Workshop sessions were for developers and offered in depth information about using the new features in OpenCms 8.

At the OpenCms Days 2011 conference expo, OpenCms solution providers exhibited their OpenCms business solutions and enhancements.

OpenCms Days 2011 was targeted towards an international audience. The language spoken at the event was English, and all presentations were held in English language.

    Oct 8, 2024 - OpenCms 18 adds a new "Place element" mode in the page editor that allows precise element placement as an alternative to drag & drop. Reused content is now clearly marked. Automatic typographical correction of quotation marks has been added to all of the editors. “Dead links” in content that is entered in a WYSIWYG editor are now automatically disabled. Our Mercury template includes several new features, such as setting different image formats for mobile and desktop and many more.
