OpenCms comes in two distributions: The binary distribution and the source distribution . The binary distribution contains everything you need to run an OpenCms website. The source distribution contains the complete source code, as well as the libraries required to compile the source.
If you intend to run OpenCms, we recommend that you use the latest release. Just download the binary distribution ZIP file and follow the instructions on the installation page. In case you want to work on the OpenCms source code, have a look at the core build page.
If you want to obtain the latest OpenCms development version, you can get it from our GitHub repository.
