OpenCms 9.0.1 now ready and available for download.

OpenCms is one of the most popular Open Source Content Management Solutions. This new version was developed by Alkacon Software GmbH with the support of the international OpenCms developer community.

OpenCms 9.0.1 is a maintenance update for OpenCms 9 that fixes a number of issues and adds some functional enhancements.

Improved in OpenCms 9.0.1

  • New 'Add resource type' dialog added to the module management.
  • New 'Clone Module' dialog added to the module management.
  • Added option to show expired or unreleased resources in content collector lists in the offline project.
  • The 'Source search' administration tool has been greatly enhanced.
  • Demo template updated to Bootstrap 3.1.0.
  • TinyMCE editor updated to version 4.0.16.
  • Includes extended PDF documentation.
  • Dozens of issues have been fixed (see the release notes for the complete list).

We recommend everyone who uses OpenCms to update to the version 9.0.1 release. OpenCms 9.0.1 is fully backward compatible to all prior 9.x and 8.x versions. Templates and other OpenCms developed code from these versions work "out of the box" with version 9.0.1.

OpenCms 9.0.1 requires a new version of Alkacon OCEE. The update is free for Alkacon customers with a valid OCEE update subscription. Please contact Alkacon to receive the new version.

  • OpenCms 18 adds a new "Place element" mode in the page editor that allows precise element placement as an alternative to drag & drop. Reused content is now clearly marked. Automatic typographical correction of quotation marks has been added to all of the editors. “Dead links” in content that is entered in a WYSIWYG editor are now automatically disabled. Our Mercury template includes several new features, such as setting different image formats for mobile and desktop and many more.
