The documentation aims to help developers from getting started with OpenCms up to getting familiar with advanced development topics regarding OpenCms. Some topics are also interesting for content managers, but most of the documentation is focused on template development, content design, configuration options and user management.
The documentation is found online at http://documentation.opencms.org/opencms-documentation/. So you only need to download the documentation modules in case you want to try the interactive examples from the documentation.
To install the documentation you need OpenCms 9.5 or later.

OpenCms 18 adds a new "Place element" mode in the page editor that allows precise element placement as an alternative to drag & drop. Reused content is now clearly marked. Automatic typographical correction of quotation marks has been added to all of the editors. “Dead links” in content that is entered in a WYSIWYG editor are now automatically disabled. Our Mercury template includes several new features, such as setting different image formats for mobile and desktop and many more.
